The Disco Biscuits and HeadCount embarked on a mission, the Bisco Power Mission, that will bring more green to the community—green power that is.
On March 21, 2010, The Disco Biscuits played a sold out benefit concert at Brooklyn Bowl, the only bowling alley or large music club in America to have “LEED Certification” recognizing its sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, to raise money for Bisco Power Mission. Half the proceeds from Bisco Power Mission will go directly toward the purchase of a solar installation for Albert M. Greenfield Elementary school in Philadelphia. The other half will help fund HeadCount’s ongoing nonprofit civic engagement activity, including voter registration, issue education and organizing community-oriented projects like Bisco Power Mission.
You can still contribute to Bisco Power Mission by donating here.
You can join the BPM planning committee or join us on a special volunteer outing at the school later this year. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to get more information.
A few limited edition prints are still available at The Disco Biscuits store. All proceeds will support Bisco Power Mission.
